Overview, Mission

Mission Statement: 

The mission of Evergreen Middle School is…

To provide access to high quality instruction, academic growth, and social and emotional growth to all students.  We commit to providing a culture of dignity and belonging where all individuals in our community understand what it means to be a lifelong learner.  

 

Vision Statement

How do we plan to achieve this?

 

We at Evergreen Middle School will commit to establishing and modeling a culture of dignity and belonging. Students will be provided access to high quality instruction based on their level of need.

 

As a result of that commitment:

 

  • All members of the EMS community will establish dignity and belonging as a norm through their words and actions
  • PLCs will meet regularly to ensure access to high quality Tier 1 instruction by creating and utilizing common assessments 
  • We will utilize PBIS practices and Character Strong lessons to teach Respect, Responsibility and Achievement
  • MTSS practices will be used to create opportunities for instructional access

 

Our Collective Commitments:

I will be a positive contributing member of our collaborative team.

I will monitor each student’s learning on an ongoing basis through classroom and team developed formative assessments.

I will work to keep team collaboration positive and about student growth or support. 

I will empower students inside the classroom so they feel valued and capable outside the classroom.

I will adhere to the EMS community concept of dignity by showing mutual respect

We will partner with parents and community members to support students.

We will treat negative behavior as an opportunity to facilitate student growth.

We will build relationships to help students succeed and to identify their strengths and needs.

We will develop common assessments in content PLC’s. 

We will actively welcome students into my classroom through intentional communication.

We will seek out and provide preview opportunities available to them  and their future. 

We will support our schools non-negotiables (planners, cell phones, etc.)
