Greetings Grizzlies,

I am so excited to get the 2021-22 school year started! It’s great to be in the office working, but the real work and FUN happens when our staff and students fill the building. I hope you and your families have had an enjoyable summer and everyone is ready to get back into the routine of school and activities. I would like to extend a warm GRIZZLY welcome to our incoming 6th grade class and a warm GRIZZLY welcome back to our 7th and 8th grade classes.

Middle school years can be a challenging time for kids and the entire staff at Evergreen looks forward to helping our students grow academically, emotionally and socially. We strive to make the transition from elementary school to middle school and middle school to high school as smooth as possible. I encourage your student to get involved in a sport or activity outside of the classroom. We have many sports and opportunities for students that help them grow and mature while building team and life skills.

It is the mission of Evergreen Middle School to establish a strong foundation for lifelong learning by providing a positive climate where all individual students can strive for maximum academic, physical, and social achievement that will guide them towards becoming productive and responsible citizens. We will also inspire our students to head in the path of greatness, to challenge them every day, and empower them every day to be successful 21st century learners. Evergreen Middle School truly is a place “Where Good Things Happen!”

I am entering my 24th year in education and I have been fortunate enough to have been a teacher, coach, athletic director, dean of students, assistant principal for instruction, and principal. I believe the role of the principal truly is to be the “Principal Teacher”. I have been inspired with the leadership and quality of teachers we have at EMS and in the Central Valley School District. I look forward to collaboratively working with our team to continue the many successes Evergreen has had throughout the 40+ years of existence.

I look forward to seeing you soon!

Mike
