On behalf of the students and staff, I would like to welcome you to Evergreen Middle School. We are entering our second year in the “new” building and our custodial staff has done a great job making the school shine over the summer!
I am extremely excited to be the new principal at Evergreen Middle School and I look forward to working with your children. Middle school years can be a challenging time for kids and the entire staff at Evergreen looks forward to helping our students grow academically, emotionally and socially. We strive to make the transition from elementary school to middle school and middle school to high school as smooth as possible.
We provide a variety of opportunities, both academic and activity, for students. Academically, we use the Common Core State Standards as a framework to define what our students should be able to know and do and each grade level. As a school district we continue to select the textbooks and materials that we use to meet those Common Core State Standards. Outside the regular school day, we encourage our students to participate in after-school activities including athletics, clubs, and activities. Our school district exercises a no-cut policy at the middle level and therefore our students can explore and participate in a variety of activities. Research shows that students do better academically when they are connected to their school through activities. We want your students involved in activities outside of the regular school day that truly build that connection and pride in their school!
With over 750 students, we continue to work hard to personalize student learning which makes Evergreen a truly unique school. We are close to having technology resources in a one to one model for our students. Our school serves those students that have been identified as medically complex. We host a variety of academic programs to meet the individual needs of our students, from special education to extended core.
It is the mission of Evergreen Middle School to establish a strong foundation for lifelong learning by providing a positive climate where all individual students can strive for maximum academic, physical, and social achievement that will guide them towards becoming productive and responsible citizens.
Again, welcome to Evergreen Middle School, “Where Good Things Happen!”
